iModela, the cheapest 3D printer (so far)
Description koikoikoi
So you’re a character designer / artist / toy designer and you want to make real toys out of your designs? Roland has just released the cheapest (so far) 3D printer, called iModela. According to what they say iModela can use different materials as a base for your toys, from plastic to wood. You can download models on the internet or use your original 3Ds and just print them. The cost is around $ 977, it’s not an ice cream’s price, but in the 3D printers world it’s the best solution for a non industrial/design studio use. Check the video

Google: Uncover Your World AdMob Experience
Description digitalbuzz
It’s Google’s new campaign called “Uncover Your World” created to promote the Google Search app on iPhones via a rich media banner campaign on their AdMob platform.
The whole experience has been created in real-life with 3D printers, set on a stage and filmed in stop motion to make the whole thing “real”. The ad invites users to explore the practical and sometimes magical uses of the app; like searching by voice, by photo, and around your current location, all while showcasing the latest rich ad platform, utilising core features like inline audio and video, parallaxing, and integration with the accelerometer.

Canada’s 3D Projection Mapped Mountain!
Description digitalbuzz
Canada’s Wonderland Theme Park has developed a huge 3D projection mapping event to celebrate it’s 30th birthday, in fact, they are projecting it onto their signature attraction “Wonder Mountain”. It’s a 10min video, so grab a coffee!
Wonder Mountain is transformed by 2D motion designs and 3D animations that are mapped and projected onto the mountain, using the mountain scape to their visual advantage. At first glance this 3D projection mapping show for Canada’s Wonderland uses most of the visual tricks you’ve already seen made famous through projection mapping events the world over, but the use of a mountain makes this just a little different! Created by the guys at Tantrum Design.

Amazing 3D Holographic Fashion Show
Description originale
The question was how to communicate the philosophy behind the new collection of German « Haute Couture » fashion designer Stefan Eckert in a better way. The answer was the world’s first complete 3D holographic fashion show. I teamed up with director Florian Sigl to create the visual concept for the show and how to express the collection within this special medium as best as possible. After shooting with a high speed camera I did all stages of post production, from 3D to motion graphics to compositing. The result was one of the biggest holographic projections ever which creates a complete optical illusion and breaks the rules of time and space on stage.
